A motorcycle rider died Tuesday night after he collided with a Poway Transit bus at 15500 Espola Road, a coroner’s office spokesman said. Steve Platz, 29, of Poway died at Palomar Memorial Hospital about an hour after the accident, according to Deputy Coroner David Lodge. David Dier of Poway, a passenger on the motorcycle, was in stable condition late Wednesday night at the hospital.
