NHRA’s Larry Dixon shoots for three top fuel wins in a row

Larry Dixon, a Van Nuys High graduate, has won the past two National Hot Rod Assn. top fuel events. He can make it three in a row this weekend at Bandimere Speedway in Colorado. In addition to his little winning streak, Dixon has made it to the semifinals in four straight events.

Ashley Force Hood heads to Bandimere as the leader in the NHRA funny car standings. Jack Beckman, a driver from North Hills, won the funny car portion of the NHRA races at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio, two weeks ago. His record at Bandimere includes a win in 2007 and a runner-up finish last year.
