Reporting from Las Vegas — American-Celtic punk band Dropkick Murphys join in on the Ultimate Fighting Championship action when they play the Fremont Street Experience in downtown Las Vegas on July 10.
The concert headlines the fourth annual UFC International Fight Week when UFC 189 featuring Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor takes place on July 11. Then it’s the Ultimate Fighter Finale on July 12; both events will be held in Las Vegas.
The weekend also features meet-and-greets and autograph signings with UFC fighters on July 10, and the Ulti-Man 5K with UFC president Dana White on July 11.
A UFC Fan Expo, the 2015 UFC Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, a UFC Reebok experience, the UFC Gym Fitness Challenge and other martial arts tournaments round out the weekend.
Dropkick Murphys out of Quincy, Mass., charted their first hit with “Tessie” in 2004, followed by “I’m Shipping Up to Boston,” featured in Martin Scorsese’s “The Departed.” The band has a long-standing relationship with the UFC, making them a fan favorite.
The concert is free.
