Daily Deal: Destination Hotels offers summer discounts nationwide

Destination Hotels & Resorts launched a summer sale that rewards those who book by the end of April with up to 40% off room rates. The offer applies to places like Miramonte Resort & Spa near Palm Springs, the Hotel Telluride in Telluride, Colo., and other hotels from West to East.
The deal: Countdown to Summer promises discounts on rooms through the end of May, but the biggest savings come with reservations made this month. There are great properties in this hotel group, so shop the sales online to find the best deal for the destination you want.
When: Reservations must be made by April 30 (for the deepest discounts).
Tested: I checked availability for the weekend of June 14-16 at hotels in this brand to see how the savings played out. I found a room available at Terranea Resort on the Palos Verdes Peninsula at 30% off the usual rate: $266 instead of $380 a night (prices exclude tax). I also checked rates at the waterfront Woodmark Hotel in Seattle and found a room for $186 instead of $219 a night, or a 15% savings, excluding tax.
