Chile: Bike tour takes in vistas, vineyards; includes airfare from LAX

Pedal along Chile’s sweeping coastline and past expansive vineyards on a new seven-night tour offered by VBT. Cyclists will explore the seaside town of Zapallar, called the “Hamptons of Chile,” the Casablanca Valley, known for its white wine grapes, the foothills of the Andes and the Santa Rita Vineyard.
Other highlights include a walking tour of Valparaiso, a UNESCO World Heritage Site; a private tour of the Andean Museum; and an opportunity to create your personal wine blend with a sommelier.
The tour, good for beginning cyclists, covers 10 to 25 miles a day, or about two to five hours of biking. Group size is limited to 20.
Dates: Nov. 4-13 and 11-20, Dec. 2-11.
Price: From $3,920, double occupancy. Includes international airfare from LAX, bicycle and helmet, bilingual trip leaders, support van, accommodations and 14 meals. Pre- and post-trip extensions are available in Santiago and San Pedro de Atacama.
