Are America’s best beaches in Florida and Hawaii? Really? What about California?
Before you plan your next sit-on-the-sand vacation, consider going to Florida’s Clearwater Beach and Grace Bay in Turks and Caicos, which, respectively, were named best beaches in the U.S. and in the world by TripAdvisor’s 2018 Travelers’ Choice Awards.
Florida and Hawaii took 9 of the 10 top spots for the best U.S. beaches in the awards announced Wednesday. California came away with just one spot for the 3-mile-long Santa Monica State Beach in Santa Monica (No. 9).
Other winners in the U.S. include:
2. Siesta Beach in Siesta Key, Fla.
3. Kaanapali Beach in Lahaina, Maui
4. South Beach in Miami
5. Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve on Oahu
6. Fort Lauderdale Beach in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
7. Saint Pete Beach in St. Pete Beach, Fla.
8. Hollywood Beach in Hollywood, Fla.

3. Varadero Beach in Varadero, Cuba
4. Eagle Beach in Aruba
