Las Vegas: ‘Nashville Unplugged’ lets you see into a song’s heart
- Share via
Country music singers and songwriters Aaron Benward and Brian McComas on Friday begin the fifth year of “Nashville Unplugged,” their weekly Las Vegas show.
The duo will celebrate the show’s anniversary at the Red Rock resort with special guest Rivers Rutherford, who has written songs for such Nashville stars as Faith Hill, Blake Shelton and Keith Urban.
“Nashville Unplugged” goes beyond a concert performance. Guests share the stories behind their lyrics before performing the songs with Benward and McComas.
“Song From a Hat” is a popular segment of the show. Each week, the performers pass a cowboy hat through the audience, soliciting ideas for a song. One idea is randomly selected and, in 10 minutes or so, Benward, McComas and their guests write the music and lyrics.
A list of upcoming songwriters is available online.
The shows begin at 8 p.m. on Fridays in the Rocks Lounge. The cover charge is $5. Guests must be 21 or older.
