Gear: This petite carry-on bag packs a wallop (and a lot of stuff too)

Carry-on luggage size restrictions can vary with the airline, the plane, the destination and the gate agent.
Savvy manufacturers are rolling out more diminutive carry-ons that won’t risk rejection. At 19-by-13-by-6-inches deep, the newest wheel-aboard bag from Lipault Paris is even smaller than the recently proposed (then delayed) limits from the International Air Transport Assn., but the bag maximizes its 1,178 cubic inches of inner space with a wide-open interior.
It is fully lined, with adjustable straps to secure clothing, double zippers, a padded carry handle and a sturdy extendable aluminum pull-handle. And it weighs in at just 5 pounds.
You can get it in black, navy or espresso, but to break away from the crowd, it also comes in purple, aqua and tangerine.
Info: Lipault Paris 2-Wheeled 19-inch Carry-On Bag costs $169.
