Laguna surf team grabs overall title

The Laguna Beach High surf team completed a competitive Scholastic High School season by taking the overall team ratings title.
Laguna athletes received team and individual awards in each division.
In the team standings, the Breakers took first place overall in Boys’ Shortboard, Girls’ Shortboard and Bodyboard. They placed second in Boys’ Longboard and Girls’ Longboard.
Individually, Laguna took the top three spots in Boys’ Shortboard. The division was won by Jake Levine with Travis Booth and Zach Levine in second and third place, respectively. Jameson Roller won the Boys’ Longboard title and teammate Ryan Meisberger was fifth in the division.
The Girls’ Longboard champion was Laguna’s Anika Pitz and the Breakers’ Lola Fisher finished third. In Girls’ Shortboard, Claire Kelly was second and Destiny Thompson fifth.
In Bodyboard, Spencer Davis took second place, Travis Booth was third and Zach Levine was fourth.
Also contributing to Laguna’s success this season were Liam McCue, Vann Allen, Trey Lockhart, Noah North, Jett North, Dylan Davis, Gaal Shonfeld and Cam Wilson.
Boys’ Shortboard: Jake Levine (first); Travis Booth (second); Zach Levine (third).
Boys’ Longboard: Jameson Roller (first); Ryan Meisberger (fifth).
Girls’ Longboard: Anika Pitz (first); Lola Fisher (third).
Girls’ Shortboard: Claire Kelly (second); Destiny Thompson (fifth).
Bodyboard: Spencer Davis (second); Travis Booth (third); Zach Levine (fourth).
