USC recruiting update: Salesian’s Kevin Scott offered scholarship
USC has offered a scholarship to Los Angeles Salesian defensive lineman Kevin Scott.
The offer, made Monday, is late for the 2015 recruiting class, which can sign letters of intent starting Feb. 4.
Scott, 6-foot-5 and 280 pounds, made an official visit to Purdue last weekend. He has visits scheduled to Miami and Mississippi and could visit USC.
USC has verbal commitments from 16 players, including defensive linemen Noah Jefferson, Jacob Daniel and Christian Rector.
The Trojans can sign 19 players and are still in the mix for five top prospects: cornerback Iman Marshall, defensive lineman Rasheem Green and linebackers Porter Gustin, Osa Masina and John Houston.
