Reporting from San Diego — USC will play Nebraska in the Holiday Bowl on Saturday at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego.
The Trojans finished the regular season 8-4 overall and 6-3 in the Pac-12 Conference. The Cornhuskers are 9-3 overall and 5-3 in the Big Ten.
Nebraska fired coach Bo Pelini after the regular-season finale and hired Oregon State Coach Mike Riley, but the Cornhuskers will be led by interim coach Barney Cotton in the bowl game.
This will be USC’s first time playing in the Holiday Bowl, but its fifth game against Nebraska.
In 2007, the Trojans defeated the Cornhuskers, 49-31, in Lincoln, Neb.
Times beat reporter Gary Klein joins me to preview the game.
Here’s the rundown:
- USC’s first time in the Holiday Bowl
- Nebraska’s interim coach situation
- USC’s offense
- USC’s defense
- NFL-eligible players
