USC’s Adoree’ Jackson, Toa Lobendahn named to Freshman All-America team
USC cornerback Adoree’ Jackson and offensive lineman Toa Lobendahn were named to the Football Writers Assn. of America Freshman All-America team.
Jackson, who returned kickoffs and played receiver in addition to playing defense, returned a kickoff for a touchdown and also turned a short pass into a long touchdown pass play in the Trojans’ 45-42 Holiday Bowl victory over Nebraska.
He finished the season with 10 receptions, three for touchdowns. He broke up 10 passes and averaged 29.7 yards per kickoff return.
Pacific-12 Conference coaches voted him freshman defensive player of the year.
Lobendahn was a starting guard for the first eight games. He moved to left tackle after Chad Wheeler suffered a season-ending knee injury against Utah.
