Santa Anita offering free parking, free infield admission on Derby Day
Saturday’s Kentucky Derby in Louisville will be a big day for Santa Anita in Arcadia. The track will have an 11-race card and is offering free admission to its infield area and free parking from Gate 6 off Colorado Place.
They’re calling it “the biggest Kentucky Derby party west of Louisville.â€
The expected Kentucky Derby favorite, California Chrome, won the Santa Anita Derby this month and is trying to become the first Cal-bred to win the Kentucky Derby since 1962.
The first race to be run at Santa Anita will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday. Gates open at 7:15 a.m. The simulcast for the Kentucky Derby will be shown live at 3:24 p.m.
There also will be a Derby Hat contest with $1,000 in cash prizes and a Bluegrass Party with craft beers, live music and food trucks.
The free admission to the infield and free parking will be available every Saturday and Sunday through the end of the Santa Anita meeting at the end of June.
