Luke Donald surprised by visit from baboon on golf course
Golf courses typically are known as tranquil locales, but that doesn’t appear to be the case in South Africa.
During the second round of the European Tour Nedbank Golf Challenge on Friday, English golfer Luke Donald got a visit from an unexpected guest while prepping for an approach shot.
A baboon ran onto the course and appeared to catch Donald and his caddie by surprise as the primate frolicked toward the green.
Still, Donald’s unusual encounter clearly didn’t hurt his game. Donald leads the tournament by two strokes after shooting a nine-under 63 at Gary Player Country Club in Sun City, South Africa.
Perhaps Donald will maintain his lead if a giraffe or a wildebeest wanders onto the course at some point this weekend.
