Ohio State trustees: One more slip could cost Gordon Gee his job
What happens when a board of trustees stops trusting you?
Ohio State President Gordon Gee may soon find out.
The university’s trustees says one more verbal gaffe could cost Gee his job.
Gee has had to go on an another apology tour after another round of offensive remarks he made at a December speaking engagement. Gee made fun of Notre Dame, Catholics and the Southeastern Conference.
Gee had previously offended the Polish and even the Little Sisters of the Poor.
The board said further outbursts could lead to more punitive action, “including dismissal.â€
Gee has been ordered to send out several apologies. The board wants him to talk less and also hire a “coach†to work on his “global presence and voice.â€
The board said Gee meant no harm with his comments but added they have “embarrassed and divided us.â€
