Ducks lose Viktor Fasth, Luca Sbisa to injury, recall Frederik Andersen

The Ducks will be without goalie Viktor Fasth for two to three weeks because of lower body muscle inflammation, and defenseman Luca Sbisa will miss six to eight weeks because of a tendon tear in his right hand, the team announced Saturday.
The Ducks promoted goalie Frederik Andersen and defenseman Nolan Yonkman from their minor league affiliate in Norfolk, Va., before Saturday’s game at the Phoenix Coyotes.
Sbisa played 16 minutes 40 seconds in Friday’s 1-0 overtime victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning, fighting with Lightning defenseman Radko Gudas in the first period.
The Ducks did not disclose when Sbisa was injured, but said he will undergo surgery Monday. He missed the first 15 games with an ankle injury.
Fasth was supposed to start Friday’s game, but suffered his injury late in warmups, forcing Jonas Hiller into an emergency start. Hiller produced 31 saves in the shutout, and started Saturday in Phoenix.
Andersen was 6-1 with a 1.66 goals-against average and .943 save percentage with the Ducks earlier in the season when Fasth was sidelined by a previous lower-body injury.
The 6-foot-6 Yonkman, 32, gives the Ducks more size and grit two days after the team acquired wing Tim Jackman from Calgary.
