Clippers seek to keep winning on trip, look to beat Detroit next
The Clippers are on their first extended trip of the season, and they are playing and winning at a level many had come to expect from this talented team.
They are 3-1 on this seven-game, 11-day trip, and are hoping to build on that success when the Clippers play the struggling Detroit Pistons on Wednesday night at the Palace of Auburn Hills.
Detroit has lost five consecutive games and eight of its last nine.
The Clippers swept the two-game series last season against the Pistons and have defeated Detroit six consecutive times.
After victories at Orlando, Miami and Charlotte, the Clippers finish the trip tonight at Detroit, Friday at Houston and Saturday at Utah.
“It’s been a good trip, a very good trip,†Clippers Coach Doc Rivers said Wednesday before his team’s shoot-around. “These last three games are important, though. We could turn this into a great trip.
“We have that opportunity. It’s all in front of us. Tonight against the Pistons, it’s a big game. I think everyone is big for us. But the fact that we have a chance to have an amazing trip is really nice.â€
