Angels minor league catcher Carlos Ramirez, an eighth-round draft pick out of Arizona State in 2009, received a 100-game suspension without pay on Thursday after a third positive test for a drug of abuse.
Ramirez, 25, was suspended for 50 games to start 2013, a season in which he hit .206 with six home runs and 22 runs batted in in 48 games for double-A Arkansas, his second straight season at double-A.
The suspension of Ramirez, who is currently on the triple-A Salt Lake roster, will be effective at the start of the 2014 season.
