Adam Scott sifts through applications for caddie job
Now that caddie Steve Williams has decided to cut back on his work schedule, Adam Scott is looking for someone new to carry his bag.
And, apparently, lots of people want the job.
The world’s No. 2-ranked golfer told the Associated Press that he has received more than 100 inquiries.
“There were some shockers, like random ones -- some guy in Florida who lives at home and looks after his mom,†Scott was quoted as saying Tuesday. “‘I guess he figured it would be a good job.â€
The pay would certainly be decent, given that Scott ranked 13th on the PGA Tour with $4.1 million in earnings last season. The Australian is also known to be a good guy.
David Clark will work his bag at the HSBC Champions in Shanghai this week. That could change next year if only because replacing Williams, who previously worked for Tiger Woods, won’t be easy.
“I need to see a few personalities, see what fits best with me,†Scott said. “I had such a strong one [personality] for so long.â€
