Angels center fielder Peter Bourjos is injured ... again

HOUSTON -- Angels center fielder Peter Bourjos returned to the starting lineup on Saturday for the first time since bruising his left thumb while sliding into second base against Pittsburgh last Sunday.

Four innings into the game against the Houson Astros, Bourjos was back in the training room because of a bruised right wrist after he was hit by a Jordan Lyles pitch in the top of the fourth.

Bourjos, after a visit from an athletic trainer, remained in the game to run during the Angels’ four-run fourth, which featured two-run singles by Alberto Callaspo and Erick Aybar. But he was replaced by outfielder J.B. Shuck to start the bottom of the fourth inning.

The injury is just the latest setback in a very productive but frustrating season for the speedy Bourjos, who is batting .326 in 40 games but missed 40 games in May and June because of a left hamstring strained and was limited to pinch-running and late-inning defense for most of this trip to Detroit and Houston.
