Update: This is the third and final regular-season game between these teams. The Sounders won, 2-0, at StubHub Center on June 1 and 2-1 in Seattle on July 28. Two weeks later, the Sounders bolstered their roster with the addition of star forward Clint Dempsey. Last-place Chivas USA has given opponents trouble of late, having defeated the New York Red Bulls, 3-2, on Aug. 25 and tying Vancouver, 2-2, on Sunday.
