NBA: Spurs lose second triple-overtime game in a row

Damian Lillard had a career-high 43 points, including 16 after regulation, and the visiting Portland Trail Blazers handed the San Antonio Spurs their second straight defeat in triple overtime, rallying for a 129-119 victory Friday night.

LaMarcus Aldridge had 32 points and 16 rebounds, and Wesley Matthews added 16 points as Portland (21-6) extended its winning streak to four games.

Tim Duncan had 32 points and 10 rebounds and Danny Green added 27 points for San Antonio, which became the first team to play consecutive triple-overtime games since the Baltimore Bullets did so in December 1951.

Chicago 103, at Memphis 97: Jimmy Butler scored 31 points, Nikola Mirotic added a season-best 27, making all six of his three-point tries, and the Bulls ended the Grizzlies’ six-game winning streak.

Charlotte 109, at Philadelphia 91: Kemba Walker scored a season-high 30 points, Al Jefferson added 20 points and 12 rebounds, and the Hornets ended a four-game losing streak while dropping the 76ers to 0-14 at home.

at Boston 114, Minnesota 98: Kelly Olynyk scored 21 points and the Celtics began the post-Rajon Rondo era with a victory over the struggling Timberwolves. One day after trading their star point guard to Dallas, the Celtics had six players score in double figures in their third straight victory, against teams that have combined for 17 wins this season.

at Cleveland 95, Brooklyn 91: LeBron James scored 22 points and Mike Miller, making his first start of the season for the Cavaliers, added 21 on seven three-pointers. James passed Charles Barkley to move into 23rd place on the all-time scoring list.

Washington 105, at Miami 103: John Wall scored 20 points and added 10 assists, Nene scored 20 off the bench and the Wizards won their sixth in a row. Dwyane Wade finished with 28 points for the Heat, which dropped its fifth straight home game and is now 4-9 on its own floor this season.

Toronto 110, at Detroit 100: Jonas Valanciunas scored 17 points as the East-leading Raptors handed the Pistons their 12th consecutive loss at home. A fourth-quarter melee saw Detroit’s Andre Drummond get a flagrant foul and four technicals called. At least one Raptors fan was ejected at the same time after a verbal altercation with the Pistons’ Josh Smith.

Utah 101, at Orlando 94: Derrick Favors had 23 points and 10 rebounds and Gordon Hayward scored 20 to lead the Jazz to back-to-back victories for the first time this season.
