Nick Young leads the Lakers in scoring -- and technical fouls
Nick Young finished the season as the Lakers’ top scorer, at 17.9 points a game, but he also led the team in a less impressive category -- technical fouls.
Through 64 games, Young collected nine technicals, placing him in the top 25 in the NBA.
Blake Griffin (Clippers) and DeMarcus Cousins (Sacramento Kings) led the league with 16 apiece, both serving one-game suspensions. Kevin Durant (Oklahoma City Thunder) avoided suspension with 15.
No other Laker came close to Young’s nine. Chris Kaman and Shawne Williams were tied for second with two technical fouls this season.
Jordan Farmar, Xavier Henry and Jordan Hill were hit just once apiece. Coach Mike D’Antoni as well as assistants Dan D’Antoni and Kurt Rambis each earned one technical.
Kobe Bryant, who usually leads the Lakers each year in technical fouls, managed to get through the season without a single infraction.
Of course, Bryant only played in six games, felled by Achilles’ tendon and knee injuries.
