Update: The Lakers have lost seven consecutive games against the Mavericks, their longest skid in 34 years of playing Dallas. The Mavericks completely retooled their backcourt, signing Wesley Matthews and Deron Williams while letting Rajon Rondo and Monta Ellis leave via free agency. Dirk Nowitzki, in his 18th NBA season, is averaging 13.5 points and eight rebounds in a victory over Phoenix and a loss to the Clippers.
