Bill Shaikin previews second half of season for Angels [video]
With their off-season signings of Albert Pujols and C.J. Wilson, the Angels entered the season pegged as a favorite to win what would be the franchise’s second World Series title.
Those expectations appeared to be in tatters following a 6-14 start that led to hitting coach Mickey Hatcher’s firing and questions surrounding Manager Mike Scioscia’s ability to get the most from his talented club.
But those early-season woes look as distant as a Mike Trout home run.
Since Trout’s promotion from triple-A Salt Lake in late April, the Angels are a major league-best 42-24. Their 6-0 victory over Baltimore on Sunday was the Angels’ 13th shutout victory, pushing them to a season-best 10 games over .500.
But are the Angels looking for more?
Check out the video above to see what Times staff writer Bill Shaikin has to say about the Angels’ prospects as they head into the second half of the season.
