Update: Rookie defenseman Slava Voynov returns to the Kings after a short stint with their minor league affiliate in Manchester, N.H. Voynov’s emergence was one of the reasons the Kings were able to move defenseman Jack Johnson in the Jeff Carter deal with the Columbus Blue Jackets. “If Slava is going to become a top-four guy, it doesn’t do him any good to be in and out of the lineup,” Kings Coach Darryl Sutter said. “He’s got to be playing those minutes at that level.” Missing these back-to-back games against the Kings and against the Ducks on Sunday will be Blackhawks captain and center Jonathan Toews and defensemen Niklas Hjalmarsson and Steve Montador, according to the Chicago Tribune. All three have upper-body injuries. Toews, who was in a one-car accident Thursday, is day to day. The team said Toews was not injured.
