Former Laker and Clipper Lamar Odom has taken a few steps since arriving in Los Angeles
Lamar Odom was released from a Las Vegas hospital Monday and was scheduled to return to Los Angeles later that night to continue his dramatic recovery process at a hospital here, The Times has confirmed.
Odom, who played for the Lakers and Clippers over a 14-year NBA career, was found unconscious at a brothel in rural Nevada a week ago and was transported to Las Vegas, where he was hospitalized in extremely critical condition.
The Love Ranch brothel in Crystal, Nev., said workers saw him drink alcohol and take supplements sold as “herbal Viagra.†He regained consciousness and communicated for the first time Friday.

Odom, 35, was most likely going to stay at the home of his estranged wife, reality TV star Khloe Kardashian, according to a person not authorized to speak publicly on the matter.
Odom’s aunt, JaNean Mercer, told the Associated Press earlier Monday that he was alert and his condition was improving, and that he was overcoming “insurmountable obstacles†and defying the odds.
A Tuesday morning press release from More Media LLC on behalf of Mercer and the Odom family said that Odom “continues to make miraculous progress†and had taken a few steps since arriving in Los Angeles.
“We realize Lamar’s continued improvement will not be easy, however his unrelenting strength and faith in GOD will pull him through,†the statement said.
