Transfer number was 6,876 in Southern Section for 2015-16

The final transfer numbers are out for the Southern Section for July of 2015 through May of 2016, and there were 6,876 students who switched schools, according to paperwork submitted to the Southern Section office.

That’s a rise of 168 from the previous year.

There were 2,094 sitout period athletes, a rise from the 2,009 in 2014-15. Sitout period athletes did not move and had to miss about a month of the season waiting to become eligible.
