It’s Trinity League vs. Sunset League in baseball challenge, plus dinner

Fountain Valley High has come up with a Trinity League vs. Sunset League baseball challenge in February that will culminate with a celebration dinner entitled, “A Night of Baseball Tales and Champions.”
The dinner will take place on Jan. 30 at 7 p.m. at the Newport Harbor Elks Lodge. Ed Arnold will be the commissioner of ceremonies with guest speakers including coaches John Savage (UCLA), Dan Hubbs (USC) and John Altobelli (Orange Coast College). Honorees will include former Mater Dei standout Cory Hahn, David Huff, Bob Ickes, Ron LaRuffa and Ron Sharpnack.

As for the games, Santa Margarita will play Huntington Beach at Anaheim Canyon at noon on Feb. 6. Mater Dei will play at Los Alamitos at 10 a.m. on Feb. 6. Marina will play at Servite at 11 a.m. on Feb. 13. St. John Bosco will play at Newport Harbor at 11 a.m. on Feb. 13.
Edison will play at JSerra at 5 p.m. on Feb. 17. Fountain Valley will play Orange Lutheran at 6 p.m. on Feb. 17.
