Girls’ basketball: Showdown between Sierra Canyon and host Alemany
One of the best basketball games of Tuesday night in girls’ basketball is the Southern Section Open Division quarterfinal between Sierra Canyon (21-4) and host Alemany (23-5).
UCLA-bound Kennedy Burke leads Sierra Canyon, which was able to get past Windward twice in the Gold Coast League.
Alemany, the co-Mission League champion, owns a win over Chaminade, which defeated Sierra Canyon in a nonleague game.
The game has huge state playoff implications, because the winner will likely also go to the Open Division state playoffs.
