Former Loara football Coach Herb Hill dies at 84

Herb Hill, who spent 27 years as football coach at Anaheim Loara and coached for 36 years in Orange County, died on Friday in Hemet, according to a family friend. He was 84.
Hill guided Loara to a 13-0 season in 1968 when the team won the Southern Section AAA championship.
He started coaching in 1953 in Garden Grove, became head coach at Rancho Alamitos in 1956 and took over the Loara program in 1962, where he coached through the 1989 season and became the winningest coach in county history at the time.
He is survived by three daughters and four grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are pending.
