Football: Narbonne ready to snap the ball better on punts
A year ago, snapping the ball on punts turned into a nightmare for Narbonne in the City Section Division I championship football game. Three bad snaps resulted in safeties and helped Crenshaw defeat the Gauchos, 18-13.
In Saturday’s Division I final at the Coliseum against Carson, Narbonne will be better prepared, Coach Manuel Douglas said.
Douglas has his team in position to win a fourth City Division I title.
“I’m excited becaue it’s another opportunity to win our last game,†he said. “Not many teams can say that at the end of the season. It’s about about finishing and we didn’t do that last year.â€
It’s also perhaps the first game toward Narbonne being one of the top teams in Southern California in 2015.
Eighteen of Narbonne’s 22 starters are underclassmen, and a top performance could pave the way for the Guachos starting out 2015 as one of the top teams in Southern California.
