Football: Lots of top DBs in Southern Section
Sherman Oaks Notre Dame senior is Cal commit
Top defensive backs will be plentiful in the Southern Section this fall.
From Adoree’ Jackson of Gardena Serra to Jaleel Wadood of Bellflower St. John Bosco, college recruiters will be excited about the talent level.
Many defensive backs will be multi-tasking. Koa Farmer, a Cal commit at Sherman Oaks Notre Dame, will be playing safety but also contributing at receiver and quarterback. Jackson and Wadood, another Cal commit, will be playing running back.
Nick Julier of Thousand Oaks had eight interceptions last season. Marvell Tell of Crespi, a 6-foot-3, 185-pound junior, will try to use his size to intimidate receivers coming over the middle.
Jonathan Lockett of Mater Dei was a summer standout at cornerback. He’s committed to Washington. Stanley Norman, a junior at Culver City, is also a dangerous punt returner.
Serra, St. John Bosco and Oaks Christian all have multiple defensive backs with scholarship offers.
