Football: Junior quarterback Armani Rogers lifts Hamilton in Western League
Armani Rogers, a 6-foot-6 junior quarterback, has lifted Hamilton to within one victory of winning the Western League championship.
Rogers led the Yankees to a 31-24 victory over Palisades on Friday. Hamilton is 6-3 overall and 4-0 in league going into next week’s regular-season finale against Venice.
Hamilton competes in City Section Division II, and the development of Rogers is an unfolding story.
Rogers played at Encino Crespi as a freshman on the junior varsity team. He transferred to Culver City last season and passed for 1,289 yards and nine touchdowns.
He transferred to Hamilton this season, and now the only team left to try to stop Rogers is Venice.
