Football: Javier Cid returns as head coach at Roosevelt

Last month, Javier Cid said he had given up his position as football coach at L.A. Roosevelt so that he could become a dean at the school after losing his teaching position.
But Cid said Friday he has returned as coach for a 10th season after reaching agreement with the school’s principal.
Parents and players had voiced support for Cid, who never wanted to step down as coach.
Cid is highly respected in the City Section for his strong ethics.
