Football: Burbank forfeits win over Monrovia because of ineligible player

Burbank has forfeited a season-opening victory over Monrovia because it used an ineligible player, the school confirmed on Thursday.
Receiver Max Weisman, who transferred from Sherman Oaks Notre Dame, was originally listed on the Southern Section website as eligible via a valid change of residence.
But he’s now listed as a sitout period player who can’t play until a week later than the normal sitout period date of Oct. 5, according to the Southern Section.
He won’t be eligible until Oct. 12, getting an extra week off for playing against Monrovia, a 38-20 Burbank win in which he caught two touchdown passes.
