Boys’ basketball: Tyler Dorsey goes for 49 points in Las Vegas

No matter where Tyler Dorsey of Pasadena Maranatha has been playing lately, he keeps scoring points.
On Saturday in a one-day tournament game in Las Vegas, he scored a career-high 49 points in Maranatha’s 71-59 win over Las Vegas Centennial.
He has scored 40 or more points in seven of his last nine games. He’s averaging 33.8 points for 10-7 Maranatha.
Jonah Mathews had 19 points in Santa Monica’s 71-69 loss to Las Vegas.
Capistrano Valley Christian defeated Flintridge Prep, 81-52. Spider Adetunji had 26 points.
In the Gold Coast League, Campbell Hall defeated Viewpoint, 69-57. Aaron Holiday had 26 points and Jordan Cohen 19. Miye Oni had 21 points and Christian Juzang 18 for Viewpoint.
St. Bonaventure defeated Elsinore, 64-51. Thomas Frank had 22 points.
In a nonleague girls’ basketball game, Long Beach Poly defeated Windward, 46-40.
