Boys’ basketball: Sierra Canyon loses 6-8 Ira Lee to shoulder injury
- Share via
Sierra Canyon, ranked No. 2 by The Times in preseason boys’ basketball rankings, could be without 6-foot-8 sophomore standout Ira Lee for the entire season because of a shoulder injury, Coach Ty Nichols said Thursday.
Lee was injured more than a week ago and is still trying to determine the severity of the injury and treatment options, according to Nichols.
Lee, who has a scholarship offer from UCLA, among others, averaged 9.4 points as a freshman. He had developed over the summer into one of the top sophomores in Southern California.
Nichols said he’ll have to change strategy and formulate new plans without Lee. The Trailblazers still have plenty of weapons, including 6-8 sophomore Cody Riley.
