Boys’ basketball: Mario Soto seeking hardship waiver
Former Santa Ana Mater Dei basketball player Mario Soto, who transferred to Saddleback Valley Christian, is now seeking a hardship waiver of CIF transfer rules in an attempt to gain immediate eligibility.
He did not have a valid change of residency, so gaining a hardship waiver is his last resort to being able to play in his senior season.
It is now under consideration, according to the CIF.
