Boys’ basketball: Isaiah Bailey scores 40 points for Compton

A one-day basketball tournament on Saturday at St. John Bosco produced some notable performances.
Isaiah Bailey of Compton scored 40 points in an 80-65 victory over Lawndale. Teammate Iziahiah Sweeney added 24 points.
Vance Jackson, a sophomore at St. John Bosco, had 27 points and freshman Billy Preston added 17 in a 78-74 win over Campbell Hall. Aaron Holiday scored 35 points for the Vikings.
Redondo defeated Santa Margarita, 65-43, behind Terrell Carter, who had 15 points, and Jeremiah Headley and Leland Green with 14 apiece.
Long Beach Jordan defeated Servite, 57-44, behind Keshaun Mack, who scored 19 points.
Cantwell-Sacred Heart defeated Long Beach Poly, 80-57. Gahr received 26 points from Malachi Hoosein in a 75-50 win over Rancho Dominguez. Chris Sandifer scored 25 points in Taft’s 64-52 win over Riverside Christian.
