Boys’ basketball: Elijah Stewart receives release from Loyola Marymount

Elijah Stewart, the likely City Section player of the year from Westchester, has been granted his release from a letter of intent he signed last November with Loyola Marymount, Coach Ed Azzam said Wednesday.
The 6-foot-4 Stewart became one of the top players in Southern California this season and is expected to be pursued by a number of Pac-12 schools that have scholarships still available, including UCLA and USC.
