Boys’ basketball: Dejon Williams scores 44 points in Muir victory

Burbank Burroughs is no longer unbeaten in the Pacific League, thanks to a 44-point performance by Dejon Williams in Muir’s 71-69 victory. Williams is the Mustangs’ standout quarterback in football. Amaad Wainwright scored 34 points for Burroughs (13-4, 5-1).
Ajon Efferson scored 25 points in Pasadena’s 76-52 win over Arcadia.
Streaking Riverside North continued its winning ways, routing Arlington, 70-43.
In the Bay League, No. 2-ranked Redondo defeated West Torrance, 74-44. Leland Green scored 18 points and Terrell Carter 16.
In the Alpha League, Windward remained unbeaten with a 74-67 win over Viewpoint. Jalen Harris scored 19 points. Christian Juzang scored 28 points and Tim Howell 25 for Viewpoint.
In the Foothill League, Hart defeated Golden Valley, 84-61. Myles Franklin and Frank Lonsinger each scored 13 points. Valencia defeated Canyon, 81-49. West Ranch knocked off Saugus, 56-52.
Village Christian defeated Maranatha, 73-58.
