Boys’ basketball: Big road games for Calabasas this week
Calabasas will need its fans, known as The Pack, to travel well this week because the Coyotes (10-4, 1-0) face a pair of difficult Marmonte League road games starting Wednesday at Westlake (10-5, 2-0) and Friday at Thousand Oaks (13-3, 2-0).
Larry Bush, now at Calabasas, used to play for Westlake, so he shouldn’t expect a standing ovation when he steps into the Westlake gym. Calabasas has been led by the trio of Wyoming-bound guard Jeremy Lieberman, Bush and Austin Smith.
Westlake has its own trio of standouts in Jeremiah Gray, Isaiah Brooks and Marcos Soto, all of whom are averaging about 12 points a game.
Thousand Oaks junior guard Matt Hauser will get to show what he can do against two of the best guards in the Marmonte League.
