They showed up wearing black en masse in the Beverly Hills gym on Wednesday night. Beverly Hills students want to do all they could to help the basketball team try to take over first place in the Ocean League. They were loud and enthusiastic.
And the Normans came through with a 55-47 victory over Santa Monica. Junior Trevor Bergher got hot in the third quarter, scoring 13 of his 16 points. He finished with four three-pointers. Ronan Massana contributed 15 points. Siavash Yektafar, who’s a crowd favorite (they hold up a giant picture of him in the bleachers) had nine points.
Santa Monica’s Jonah Mathews, averaging 22 points, finished with 19.
Beverly Hills improved to 13-7 and 3-0. Santa Monica, which played without Nuwr’iyl Williams, dropped to 10-9 and 2-1.
