Boys’ basketball: A sign of the times with transfer students
- Share via
Wednesday’s West Valley League basketball game between Taft and Birmingham was a perfect example of how transfers have taken over the sport.
Eight of the 10 players starting for the two teams were transfer students. The only players not transfers were Brandon Thomas of Taft, who scored 32 points in Taft’s victory, and Birmingham’s Josh Abrams.
Taft had players from Buckley, Price, Chatsworth and St. John Bosco in its starting five. Birmingham had players from Alaska, El Camino Real and St. Genevieve.
It’s all part of the basketball scene these days.
