Baseball: Pat Valaika is another ex-Hart player nearing the majors

Hart baseball Coach Jim Ozella might have to soon update the sign near the school’s baseball scoreboard that lists players from the school who have reached the major leagues.

It was updated earlier this season when Tyler Glasnow was called up by the Pittsburgh Pirates, making five former Hart players in the majors this season.

Now former Hart shortstop Pat Valaika has reached Triple A for the Colorado Rockies organization.

Ozella insists he’s ready in case Valaika is called up.

“Painter on call 24/7,” he said.
