Baseball: Orange County connection impressive for UCLA in alumni game
- Share via
Let’s hear it for the pitchers who grew up in Orange County on UCLA’s baseball roster. They were impressive in a 21-2 win over the alumni on Saturday.
Griffin Canning, a Santa Margarita grad coming off an injury that sidelined him late last season, looked healthy and dominant. He threw four shutout innings, allowing one hit.
Kyle Molnar, a freshman from Aliso Niguel, also threw four shutout innings while allowing two hits.
Eric Filia, an Edison grad returning to the Bruins, had a home run, one of five by UCLA hitters.
UCLA opens its season on Feb. 19 at home against North Carolina.
