Baseball: JSerra to play in Saturday’s Boras Classic championship game

It’s going to be tough enough this week for No. 1-ranked JSerra playing three Trinity League games against St. John Bosco. The Lions won their first game, 5-3, on Monday night, and play again on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. at Angel Stadium.
On Saturday, JSerra will play St. Francis from Northern California in the championship game of the Boras Classic at noon at Cal State Fullerton. The game will be shown on ESPN3.
Pitching depth is one of the strengths for JSerra.
But clearly the focus must be on winning the Trinity League games this week, because there are no wild cards for the Southern Section Division 1 playoffs. No matter your overall record, you either finish in the top three spots in the Trinity League or you don’t make the playoffs.
JSerra is 19-3 and 5-2.
