After Chatsworth’s 6-3 loss to Birmingham on Saturday at Dodger Stadium in the City Section Division I championship game, Chatsworth Coach Curtis Scott told his players he is resigning after one season to return to Moorpark College as an assistant coach.
Scott said it was a family decision. Moorpark dropped its baseball program and recently reinstat4ed it.
“Chatsworth was great,” he said. “It was a very difficult decision.”
Scott replaced Tom Meusborn, who guided the Chancellors to eight City titles from 1990 through last season.
Assistant Fred Pudrith is expected to handle coaching duties this summer until the school hires a new head coach. Pudrith has not been interested in becoming the head coach.
