Matthew Aven, a freshman kicker at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, tied the NCAA Division III record for longest field goal Saturday, making a 62-yarder against host Cal Lutheran.
The kick came with 1:05 left in the second quarter in Thousand Oaks.
The 62-yard field goal ties the record established by Dom Antonini of Rowan University in 1976.
Aven is five for eight on the season and has made kicks from 50, 53 and 62 yards. He made a 50-yard field goal earlier in the game.
Cal Lutheran won, 20-6.
